It was sixty-one degrees and there was a mist in the air–only briefly. And I praised the Lord! After several heat waves this weather was a real treat. The rain drops hitting my skin was soothing and a relief. There will be more heat waves before the summer will be up but today I will consider to be a gift even if a blue sky never appears.

There is nothing like being in the sunshine.  After a week of gloomy, rainy weather today the sky was blue and it even hit seventy.  My wife was depressed and tried to dispel her gloom.  She took a chair, placed it in the sunlight and basked in it.  It is too easy to be depressed when the weather is cold and the sun is far away.  It was a perfect Autumn day and she decided to enjoy it and went out into our yard.  Maybe later I will have a Scrabble game there.  The days are running out I can do that.  There is nothing like a clear, warm day to cheer you up.

Spring was less than three days away.  It is a beautiful day.  The forecast said it would hit sixty degrees today.  The sky was blue with hardly a wisp of cloud.  I was tired of the cold temperatures.  I am ready for spring.  The daffodils are almost ten inches high.  I noted yesterday that one primrose was budding.  I was not sure we would have any.  Hope was on the horizon.  This long winter was almost over.

Spring finally arrived. Today was its entrance. The forecast said it would hit seventy today. The sky was perfectly blue with not a cloud in the sky and all I wanted to do was go fishing.

There was one small detail to overcome–I had not gotten my license yet but you get the idea how beautiful the first day of spring was. The countdown was over.

And I know it will have arrived for good when the days melt into each other and I no longer think about spring. We creatures take the weather for granted awfully quick but not too long.

This is a temperate climate. And the weather changes before you know it. Today I will celebrate spring. At least, for one day.
