It was a perfect fall day.  There was a dull roar in the background.  The wind was blowing hard.  Dried leaves were scattering everywhere.  It was, also, warm–in the high fifties.  I have never flown a kite but today I wanted to.  It was a great day for a ride to observe the rapidly changing landscape.  It was, simply, a great day to be alive and to enjoy Autumn.  Before we know it most of the leaves will have fallen and the cold will set in and then Winter will be next.  I really do not want to rush it and enjoy today.

It was fifty outside and the thin pine trees were really swaying in the wind.  There was a dull roar in the background.  It was a perfect day to fly a kite except I didn’t have one.  This whole week promised to be above average temperatures.  Winter was winding down and this week was a preview of spring.  I just checked:  daffodils are poking their heads out of the soil.  Yesterday we saw pussy willow buds.  I am, next, searching for the primrose that come up even before the daffodils.  Winter is winding down.  Spring is now in the air.

It was a perfect Autumn day.  I checked the mail in town.  I realized I had too many layers of clothing on.  I took off my turtleneck when I got home.  The temperature must have been nearing seventy degrees.  There was a dull roar in the background, the leaves were blowing.  It was a perfect day to fly a kite.
