The ten day forecast is forties high every day. That is the first time in months. Spring is less than two weeks away. Maybe the weather has turned a corner. Now I can start inspecting my garden every day for the sign of the first flowers of spring. There is still quite a bit of snow on the ground. Let us see if it melts within ten days of this “heat wave.”

I saw my first robin on someone’s lawn today–five days before the official entry of spring.  A week ago I drove all over town looking for one–no luck.  I will just record this for posterity.  I did note the crocuses were completely open today.  They will last awhile.  The temperature has also risen slightly.  We are occasionally getting days in the fifties.  These are all signs spring is about to come.

It was six-twenty PM and still light.  This Sunday is daylight saving time and the clock gets moved forward an hour so it will be lighter longer.  There is no more the gloom of winter time when it got dark much earlier.  We are even having days in the fifties.  Everything will start to turn green.  Soon the daffodils will bloom as well as the tulips and crocuses.  Again for the second straight year the winter did not kill the primrose.  We had no extended freezes.  Now spring officially is less than two weeks away.

It is absolutely balmy today.  Forty-forty degrees.  No breeze.  Spring is around the corner.  My four dogs were all outside in the yard soaking in the sun.  They all know a good thing.  They simply did not want to come in.  Officially spring is still more than three weeks away.  Today is an harbinger of spring.  I have to go out, again.
