I have to thank God even for the wet and cold days. My sister lives in California and they are experiencing a severe prolonged drought. Not us. Thank God for small favors and thank you for the rain.

I don’t know whether we will have another two straight days in the eighties.  It is already October ninth.  This could be the final burst of Indian summer so I just will enjoy the sunlight and temperatures.  There might be no more days like this.  It seemed as if the whole month of September was rainy and cloudy.  In fact, it broke all records for rainfall for one month.  My wife is basking in the sunlight and I will soon join her.  We are still celebrating her birthday.  She gets three birthday days this year.  In fact the weather is a gift.  It is, at least, the third straight sunny day.  Thank God for small favors.

There was actually a blue clear sky.  It was rainy and overcast for days.  Central Pennsylvania had a major flood.  We had a deadly two punch–first an hurricane, then a tropical storm one after another.  Flooding was everywhere.  The soil was saturated.  We did not have any problems with flooding but a lot of people did on lower lying areas.  It was crisp outside and it felt good being there:  thank God for small favors.  It was the lull after the storm which seemed to go on forever.  I am hoping my neighbor puts up our TV antenna tonight.  It was months ago we cancelled Dish.  It is a great day.

Thank God for small favors.  I was operated on my arm and that healed up nicely.  It was my hand of the operated arm that was causing me problems:  the top of my left hand (right side) and its corresponding thumb–(the top of it and side) was numb and tingling and sensitive causing me pain. I thanked God the other side of my thumb was not numb.  It was the side I gripped my fingers together.  I thanked God for that.  Everything is by grace.
