It is so easy to be ungrateful. The only thing that counters that is to count your blessings.  Don’t compare yourself to any one else.  It never works.  It never makes you happy. Be satisfied with the portion God has bequeathed you. There is a reason ‘thou shall not covet’ is one of the ten commandments.  Thank God for everything. Some people are here to do great things.  Others many small things with much love. It is really the tiny things we remember–the favors others graciously gave us. After all isn’t life composed of myriad details.  The great events only come once in awhile. You may be the recipient of only one or two earthshaking events.  So enjoy all your life.  You only get one time around.  And thank God for everything.  Face each day with a spirit of thankfulness and gratefulness.  God does not owe you anything.  And no one ever said life would be fair. So never torture yourself with the question “Why?”  There is no appropriate answer.  Most likely silence is all you will hear from the heavens above.  Appreciate every moment given to you.  Time is a gift so thank God for all your precious moments.

How many more opportunities will I have to see my sisters?  We are meeting them both at the PA and NJ border.  My one sister now lives in California and comes East maybe once a year.  My other sister has a second home in Plymouth.  We used to always go to her house for Thanksgiving in NJ once a year.  Now she has it in Plymouth and that is just too far from us.  I just wonder how many more opportunities will I have to see them together.  We never know how much time we have so all I can do is enjoy the time He gives me.  It is really not up to me.  Time is a gift.  And we never know when it runs out.

When you die, someone has to pick up some of the threads you left behind. It may be a project you started, a committee you are on, some ideas you have. It may be whatever.

How boring it would be if you did everything you wanted to do in your life. There would be no reason to continue.

Someone is always taking some one’s ideas and taking it a little further in this direction or that. We always leave this earth with unfinished business. And the time we have here is a gift.

My daughter worked the last eight days.  She is going to spend time with me today.  Father’s Day for her had to be postponed two days.  That is the most precious thing she has–her time.  She does not have much money but she has time.  And no price can be put on that.  Time is invaluable.  Especially when that is all you have.  So squander it on the people you care about.  It is a gift.  You never know for sure when it will run out.
