Why you should not count the days until…  You miss too much.  You can’t focus on the now.  You can but you have to be very careful you do not lose the moment, what is happening right in front of you.

Your best times are always now so look around, pay attention.  Enjoy your present situation.  It will only come once.  Then it is gone forever.

Don’t be like the ostrich whose neck is buried in the ground.  Soak in the present moment fully.  If you want to visualize a better future fine but don’t miss the present.  You may find out the future you have put off never comes.  So don’t count your days until…

The best time of your life is now.  Thank the Lord for today.  It is all you have.  You have to thank the Almighty for every breath He gives you and not take your days for granted.

I want to learn to be more mindful of what I do:  I like smoking cigars but I want to enjoy them more.  Being more aware I am smoking one not only cuts down on the number of cigars I smoke but also means I enjoy them more.

The less you do things routinely without thinking the more you can enjoy that activity.  That includes all your favorite foods everything you enjoy doing.  You are less likely to be overweight if you savor every bite you eat.

It is so easy to become blind to your surrounding.  That is why when you go on vacation and are traveling in an unfamiliar surroundings everything appears so fresh in your eyes.

The trick is to slow down and be mindful of everything you do.  Everything will appear to be in be in slow motion.  Maybe you can not do that with everything but it is worth a try.

There is so much beauty that is right under our noses.  And we pass by it each day without a glance.  Somehow we have to slow down and truly see what is there.  That is becoming more mindful.

It is a cold and wet day and all you feel like doing is to stay in or huddle under your sheets.  Maybe, today we will see the new “Woodstock” movie we talked about seeing.

This is the type of day for doing things inside.  Perhaps, tackling a project you have put off.  It appears it will rain all day.  Any plans you might have made to spend outdoors are gone.

Occasional days like this can be comforting.  You can listen to the continuous sound of raindrops coming down.  And just reflect if you chose to.  Periodic days like these can be enjoyable.

Instead of mulling on what you can’t do you can make a shift in thinking and focus on the things you can do.  Rainy days can be fun.  It is all up to you.
