I really do not feel sorry for my financial state.  One of my friends made some reference to that.  I never made as much money as him or leave (???) in such a beautiful house.  I am content with what I have.  There is less and more in this world.  That is the way it is.  God has blessed me abundantly.  I know that and I am content.

Every person has tragedy in their life.  If you would take the time to listen, you would find that out.  That is just the way it is.  And some people have more.  And life is not always fair.  You can rant and rail.  It does not do any good.  So what is the difference between one person or another?  It is how they meet their circumstances.  Is it with courage or dignity?

Or do they whine?  And complain.  Every person has some tragedy in their lives.  It is how they face them that makes all the difference.  Do others get inspired by their example?  We all know such people in our lives.  You can’t change your circumstances but you can change your attitude.  That you have more control of.

God does not owe me anything. Life is not always fair. I do what is in my power to do and the results then are out of my hands. I rest then.

Some people have more. And some less. Coveting is a sin for a reason. I am happy with what I have. Sometimes I have more, other times less.

One can make up his mind to be satisfied. Everything is by grace. And your life is, also, by grace. There is life and there is death. And that is reality.

Enjoy fully the bounty given to you. All God promises you is shelter and food. Every thing beyond that is only by His grace.

I am aware God does not owe me any thing. And face my day with a spirit of gratefulness. And rest. There really is no other way.

It is a four letter word — “pain”.  That more than anything in my life has initiated change.  My pastor yesterday related the story of Noah and the flood and of course the ark.  He said the storm comes first, then the promises of God represented by the rainbow.  Another way of saying the same thing is that God will always take care of you.  The 23rd Psalm states, ‘I will walk you through the shadow of death’, — not around but through.  Ecclesiastes, the book in the Bible written by King Solomon says, ‘Bad things happen even to good people.’  Storms always come or trials which is another way of saying the same thing.  Then the rainbow follows, which represents the promises of God.  God never forsakes us.  You never are able to see the big picture:  ‘God has set eternity in our lives’ (Ecclesiastes, again).  Life does not always make sense nor is it always fair.  If you insist on all that, you will torture yourself unnecessarily.  Pain and trials always come.  If your life ran smoothly all the time not only would your life be boring but there would be no need to ever learn how to overcome problems.  And trials and pain and tragedy come to each person.  No one is exempt.  And again, life is never fair.  And that is how we learn.  Through those trials (and the accompanying pain that follows).
