Everyone Has A Story

Author: siggy

Everyone has a story.  You just have to stop and listen and observe.  Every one tells their story differently.  All the drama is there.  You often find out their tales in bits and pieces.  Very seldom will theirs completely unravel.

Most of the time you gets little pieces of theirs.  In little chunks.  Maybe ten, fifteen seconds at a time.  They do not have to know you.  It is hard not to reveal anything of yourself.

Your dress, manner and conversation speaks volumes.  You just have to listen.  Some people reveal triumph, others tragedy.  Others failure.  All you have to do is keep your eyes and ears open.

Others peoples’ story are always unraveling in front of you.  You have to take the time to listen.  That is all it takes.  A little patience and time.

Simplicity and clarity and honesty go hand and hand in writing.  And it always has to be personal–something your reader can grab, identify with–the more honest the better.

Realize your personality always comes through your writing.  You can’t really hide who you are.  It is really impossible to write anything without revealing you anyway.

I made a decision a long time ago.  I had to strive for simplicity and clarity and honesty if I were to be any good as a writer.

You can not write with clarity if you are not open.  And then again striving for simplicity and clarity forces you to remain as open as you can.

Readers usually appreciate honesty.  And simplicity and clarity and honesty go hand and hand so always strive for those qualities.

Everything you say (or leave out) reveals something about yourself. If you constantly use superlatives to describe every experience, my ears perk up.

The adjectives you use, also, reveal something about you. Your tone of voice exposes how you really feel about something. If your affect is flat, it could reflect depression (or something else).

I do not claim to read every person but I am intuitive (and feel my way) with every person I meet. Even if you are not, if you pay attention to the person who is talking to you, he/she can not “hide” from you.

Sometimes the things left unsaid expose you. Every person, every word uttered reveals some kind of attitude. Sure, some people are better at hiding their emotions. Even that says something.

All you have to do is pay attention to the person talking. Their body language can be revealing. Everything they say, do reveals something vital about them. There really is no place to hide.
